Bills Keeping Close Eye On Josh Allen's Left Hand Injury

It was another amazing performance from Buffalo Bills star quarterback Josh Allen, but it came at a price. Namely, Allen suffered a left hand injury while rushing for his second touchdown in the Bills' come-from-behind 34-28 home win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

The Bills, per reports, are now in wait-and-see mode.

Allen suffered the injury when he lept over Cardinals safety Budda Baker to put Buffalo up by two scores in the fourth quarter. The Bills once trailed the NFL opener by a 17-3 count.

"The first rushing touchdown, I kind of lowered the shoulder, knowing that was a corner," Allen told reporters. "Second time, I knew it was Budda, and Budda's a good player and he'll lay the boom on you, so I decided to go up and over, but probably can't make a living doing that, but here we are."

He suggested the hand was fine after the game, but that yes, he "probably" would be getting an X-ray.

"Again, we'll find out — I'm not quite sure," Allen said. "I'm not a doctor. But just kind of landed on it, I guess."

The Bills return to action Thursday, when they face the Miami Dolphins.

"Yeah, always concerned anytime anybody is hurt," Buffalo coach Sean McDermott said. "In this case, for sure Josh. I'll know more, again, hopefully in the next couple of hours. Maybe even when I walk back through the hallway here, so always concerned."

Per ESPN, Allen "became the fifth player in NFL history with multiple touchdowns both passing and rushing in a season opener, and the first since Troy Aikman in 1998. It was Allen's fourth career game with multiple touchdowns in the air and on the ground, tying Steve Young for the most such games in NFL history."
