RELATED: The Jets leaked their contract offer to Ryan Fitzpatrick and that's made them look worse
You'd think that by having all of the players practically begging for the return of Ryan Fitzpatrick, the Jets and Fitz's camp would have come to some sort of agreement by now. The way the entire process has dragged on, wide receiver Brandon Marshall is getting a little antsy about the entire situation.
Actually, it's making him quite afraid, considering the relationship the two have.
"I try to give support to the player, to Fitz, to Big Mo', understanding what they're going through because I've been through it." Marshall said on Ian Rapaport's radio show.
"I don't know what's going on. To be honest, me and Fitz talk everyday, all the time, but I texted him the last two weeks three times and there's no response. The only thing that he can do to make this right is to say he was on vacation, I was out of the country. It's not like him. It's scaring me right now. It's scaring me that my guy hasn't texted me back.
Marshall's fears may be unwarranted though, as the Jets could be closing in on a deal with Fitzpatrick sooner than later. As Rich Cimini of ESPN notes, the Jets five-year, $85 million deal with Muhammad Richardson opens up breathable cap room now that Richardson is no longer under the franchise tag.
