Even as he prepares to head into the Pro Football Hall of Fame six years after leaving the game at its highest level, the jokes won't stop about Brett Favre retiring, only to unretire and make a comeback.

So with the Dallas Cowboys in desperate need of a backup behind the oft-injured Tony Romo after Kellen Moore broke his fibula, Favre was asked Friday morning on Good Morning Football if he'd be willing to return in a reserve role.
"You know what? Being around, walking in this Hall and stuff, it kind of gives you an itch," Favre said, per Sporting News. "The only problem is I can't get hit. Can they promise I won't get hit?"
Former NFL wideout Nate Burleson noted Dallas' outstanding offensive line (the Cowboys allowed just 33 sacks, good for 12th fewest in the NFL last season per Sporting Charts), but that wasn't good enough for Favre.
"Well, I mean, that's good. But I need a little more ... security," Favre responded, laughing.
We can never really rule anything with Favre (he did play for the New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings, after all), but we can say with near certainty the 46-year-old former quarterback won't trade his gold jacket for shoulder pads anytime in the near future.
