NFL Coach Brian Flores Responds To The Disparaging Comments His Former Player Tua Tagovailoa Made About Him: 'How Can I Do Better?'

While appearing on the Dan LeBatard Show, Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa opened up about the differences between his current and former NFL coach. That is to say, he had a lot to say about Brian Flores, who coached him during his first two seasons in the league (2020-21).

After these remarks were aired out to the public, Flores has been at the center of public scrutiny, with many questioning his coaching practices during his three-year tenure as the Dolphins head coach.

While addressing the comments when speaking to the media, Flores, who is now currently the Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator, noted that he is a bit hurt over his former player's opinion of him, albeit he vows to learn from the criticisms.

Flores said, "Look, I'm human, so that hit me in the way I wouldn't say was positive for me. But, at the same time, I gotta use that and say, 'Hey, how can I grow from that? How can I do better?'"

Even so, he does admit that he doesn't feel like he was portrayed in the right way.

"Do I feel like that's me? No, but how can I grow from that situation and create a world where that's not the case that anyone says that about Brian Flores."

Flores, who comes from the Bill Belichick coaching tree, spending 15 seasons with the New England Patriots, notes that he has built many great relationships over the years.

To point out, he also said that no matter what Tua thinks of him, he wishes "nothing but the best" for the 26-year-old budding star, who led the NFL in passing yards (4,624) and earned a Pro Bowl selection last year.
