The Cleveland Browns looked great with Jameis Winston under center two weeks ago, upsetting the Baltimore Ravens. But Sunday in a blowout loss to the Los Angeles Chargers ... yeah, not so much.

Now, the Browns are 2-7, as perhaps the NFL's most disappointing team. And all we know is that quarterback Deshaun Watson is out for the season and Winston has been the starter in his place. That isn't about to change, coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters.
Winston has a reputation as a guy who throws a lot of interceptions. But he can also be dynamic and make winning plays. The Browns knew what they were getting — and if nothing else, the culture will likely be better with Winston as the QB (as opposed to Watson).
Anyway, the bad Winston showed up against the league's top-ranked defense on Sunday, as he threw three interceptions, each of which took place in Chargers territory. But Stefanski told reporters that Winston will remain the starter.
"Yes, and again, those are the type of things that we just have to play better as a team," Stefanski said.
This is a lost season for the Browns. A massive disappointment after making the playoffs a year ago. Everything has been worse — not just the quarterback play. The receivers look average, the linebackers average-to-bad, the offensive line a trainwreck. How they fell so far, so fast, is anyone's guess.
Now, poor Jameis Winston has to go out there and try to fix this, with very little help. Good luck to all involved. It feels as if the Browns, a cultural nightmare, will have to start all over yet again.
