The Cleveland Browns' head coaching search just lost another notable name.

According to Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com, Jesse Minter has canceled his scheduled second interview with the Browns, making him the latest serious candidate to bow out of the process. Earlier this week, former Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel did the same.
Cabot reported that Minter is likely prioritizing other head coaching opportunities he views as more certain.
Minter has already interviewed with the Arizona Cardinals, Las Vegas Raiders and Baltimore Ravens, and some league observers believe Baltimore could ultimately be his landing spot.
The 42-year-old has spent the past two seasons as defensive coordinator with the Los Angeles Chargers, after a strong two-year run running the defense at Michigan. Before that, he logged four years of NFL experience with the Ravens from 2017 through 2020, including a stint as defensive backs coach.
For Cleveland, it is another reminder that this cycle has not been short on options, but landing top targets has been far less certain.
That may have something to do with questions about the Browns' ownership and overall stability. Oh, they may or may not have a quarterback — depending on your view of Shadeur Sanders and still, DeShaun Watson. Believe it or not, Watson is expected to give it another go as the starter next year.
But that will be up to the Browns' next coach. Assuming they ever find one.
