"I'm well. I'm back at practice today, so I'm thankful," Sanders told reporters, via Pro Football Talk.

Sanders said the soreness wasn't a big deal. In fact, he's dealt with it before.

"In college, it was often," he said. "It's just adjusting to starting and stopping, honestly. Sometimes you go in hot. Then, you'll wait for a second and get cold. Then get back hot and get cold again. My arm and body weren't used to that. It's just an adjustment."

The rookie is battling Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel and Joe Flacco for the starting job, though he's had fewer first-team reps than the others. Pickett recently got back into the mix after a hamstring injury.

"I think every rep I get is valuable," Sanders said. "We're definitely taking things up a notch. Every time I step on the field, I take it like it could be my last. You never know. There were players we were practicing with last week that aren't here anymore. It's about building a bond. It's about going all out. It's about how you'll be remembered."

The 144th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Sanders has looked sharp early, going 49-of-70 with six touchdowns and no interceptions in the first eight days of camp.

He's coming off a productive two-year run at Colorado after transferring from Jackson State. He completed 71.8 percent of his passes with 7,364 yards, 64 touchdowns and just 13 interceptions in that stretch.

The Browns may not be counting on Sanders to start right away, but he's clearly treating the opportunity like he could. And that alone is something worth watching.
