A Mitch Trubisky touchdown pass on Sunday afternoon helped the Bills tie the Patriots in the second quarter of a meaningless game. This pass made the AFC East team the first in NFL history to score 30 passing touchdowns and 30 rushing touchdowns in a single season.

Josh Allen has accounted for 28 of the passing touchdowns while making himself an MVP candidate. Trubisky has accounted for two passing touchdowns while serving as Allen's primary backup. His first touchdown pass of the season came during a blowout win over the Jets while his second was on Sunday against the Patriots.
Four different players combined to score 31 rushing touchdowns in the first 16 games of the season. Running back James Cook led the way with 15 rushing touchdowns.
Allen scored 12 times on the ground while serving as a dual-purpose threat. Backup running back Ray Davis scored three rushing touchdowns. Fellow running back Ty Johnson scored one.
Thirty passing touchdowns is not a major milestone in the NFL. Several quarterbacks have thrown for far more while leading powerful offenses. For example, Bills' rival Tom Brady threw 50 touchdown passes during the 2007 season. Peyton Manning threw 55 during the 2013 season.
However, having more than 30 rushing touchdowns is a significant part of this record. It shows that the Bills have a balanced offense that can score in multiple ways. This will be key during the playoffs as defenses tighten up and scoring becomes far more difficult.
The closest comparison to the Bills in the AFC is the Ravens. The Lamar Jackson-led team closed out the regular season with 62 total touchdowns. Jackson threw 41 touchdown passes while competing with Allen for MVP. He also rushed for four touchdowns while Derrick Henry rushed for 16 and Justice Hill rushed for one.
The Bengals' offense was far more one-sided during the regular season. MVP candidate Joe Burrow threw 43 touchdown passes, but the rushing attack only provided 11 scores.
