Cam Newton Calls Out Christian McCaffrey For Not Being Invited To His Wedding, CMC Responds

NFL running back Christian McCaffrey married Miss Universe Olivia Culpo on June 29, however it looks like not all made the invite list. Notably, former Carolina Panthers QB and teammate of CMC, Cam Newton, expressed that he was sad about not being asked to come to the Rhode Island wedding.

On his 4th&1 podcast, Newton said he wishes that McCaffrey wouldn't have forgotten about him, as the QB/RB duo played together for a total of four seasons, and connected on a total of 23 touchdowns.

In particular, Cam referenced his former teammate, tight end Greg Olsen, who was seen celebrating at the wedding with the groom.

That is say, CMC had his own jokes regarding the situation as he narrated his own version of a dialogue he had with Olsen at the wedding, by posting a long comment underneath a post made by Newton's podcast on Instagram, which was captioned "@Cam's invite must have gotten lost in the mail."

["Me (McCaffrey)]: 'Talking to Greg [Olsen] at the bar, 'This was a great night, but you know what would've made it even better?'"

Greg: 'What?'

Me: 'If Cam were here. I haven't got a text back in four years. In fact, they just go green now.'

Greg: *Takes sip of whiskey 'He would've loved it... Four years? Even on Instagram.'

Me: 'Only once on there but that don't count' (Insert laugh track). *He orders another round while they both sit in silence for 30 seconds.

Christian: 'Why don't he love me man?'

*Camera cuts to highlights of Cam and Christian together while 'With Arms Wide Open' by Creed plays. Scene."]

Then Newton responded to this by asking, "What number do you have?! (share it here) - love."]

While on the podcast, Newton also went on to joke about why he might not have been invited, citing his beef with 49ers QB, Brock Purdy, current teammate of McCaffrey. To point out, last season, the former NFL quarterbacks received some backlash after calling Purdy a "game manager" in comparison to the other "game-changing" NFL QBs.
"Look, dang, C Mac, I couldn't get an invite?... Is it because of the Brock Purdy beef? Was Brock there?" Newton asked.

All in all, it seems like the back-and-forth humor has made it clear that there is no bad blood between the quarterback/running back tandem, as they achieved much success on the field together.

Newton concluded this segment on his podcast by giving his best wishes to the newlyweds.

"Well congratulations Olivia McCaffrey and Christian," he said.

Newton noted that he didn't even know there was a wedding, as he originally found out about the big news after his girlfriend Jasmin Brown let him know. With this in mind, maybe when it's time for Newton to tie the knot one day, he will have a big decision to make, thinking about if he should invite McCaffrey or not.
