The ex-wife of former Carolina Panthers star Thomas Davis has resolved the misdemeanor assault case stemming from an altercation last year.

According to North Carolina court records, Kelly Davis entered a pretrial diversion program that could lead to the dismissal of the charge if she successfully completes its requirements.
As part of the agreement, Davis must complete a cognitive behavioral intervention course, avoid contact with the alleged victim and pay $1,380 in restitution, according to court records.
Her attorney, James J. Exum, told The California Post that the charge will be dismissed if Davis fulfills the conditions of the program.
"It's a very fair resolution for a good lady like her who has no criminal history," Exum said.
Davis was charged with misdemeanor assault and battery in 2025 after being accused of confronting a woman she believed had been involved in a relationship with her former husband.
According to a criminal affidavit, the alleged victim told investigators Davis arrived at her chiropractic office and struck her multiple times while accusing her of having a relationship with Thomas Davis.
Following her arrest, Kelly Davis maintained she acted in self-defense.
Thomas and Kelly Davis married in 2008 before separating in 2024. Their divorce was finalized in late 2025. The former couple shares a son, Thomas Davis Jr., who plays linebacker at Notre Dame.
Thomas Davis spent 16 NFL seasons with the Panthers, Chargers and Washington, earning three Pro Bowl selections and establishing himself as one of the most accomplished linebackers in Carolina franchise history.
