CBS names the NFL's most overrated player in the league last season

He had 75 tackles with two interceptions and one forced fumble last season.

The most overrated player in the NFL is Kam Chancellor of the Seattle Seahawks, says CBS Sports' Pete Prisco.

Seattle's start to the 2015-16 season couldn't have been much worse, as the Seahawks dropped their first two contests and looked a shell of the team that fell to the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl while Chancellor held out.

But after allowing over 500 yards in the first two games through the air, Chancellor returned, and the Legion of Boom regained its form. Seattle would get back on track to make the playoffs, before falling to the NFC's representative in the Super Bowl, the Carolina Panthers in the Divisional round.

But Seattle likely doesn't get that far without Chancellor. His numbers — 75 tackles with two interceptions and one forced fumble last season — don't pop off the page, but they're quality stats for a guy who makes his team better as a whole. He clearly never quite regained his form, but knew the scheme and helped fill lapses in coverage.

Like Prisco points out, Chancellor wasn't great against tight ends, but with the exception of facing Greg Olsen and Rob Gronkowski, the Seahawks don't face off against any other great tight end this season.

And when it comes to overrated, you can do much worse than Chancellor.
