The Houston Texans are in desperate need of a franchise quarterback—especially after Brock Osweiler's disastrous season a year ago which led to the team trading him to the Cleveland Browns.
The Texans are expected to be involved in the Tony Romo sweepstakes once he's released by the Dallas Cowboys, but if they don't sign Romo, they will likely look to draft a QB.

On a recent mock draft on CBS Sports, Rob Rang has the Texans selecting Deshaun Watson with the No. 25 overall pick in the draft.
"Getting rid of the colossal Osweiler contract was a relief in itself, but unless a veteran replacement (Tony Romo?) is found, quarterback is now the top priority again in Houston," Rang wrote. "Watson's ability to deliver in the clutch intrigues scouts, but he also threw an FBS-worst 30 interceptions over the past two seasons, making him a polarizing player in the scouting community. At this point in the draft, however, GM Rick Smith might see him as simply too talented to pass up."
Rang has Mitchell Trubisky as the first QB off the board at No. 12 to the Cleveland Browns, and he has Patrick Mahomes being drafted immediately after at No. 13 to the Arizona Cardinals.
Watson's college coach, Dabo Swinney, said passing on Watson would be like passing on Michael Jordan. If the Texans landed Watson at No. 25, they could be getting the steal of the draft.
