Chiefs' DeAndre Hopkins Tweets, 'I'm Not Done Yet,' Later Deletes It

In his 12th NFL season, Kansas City Chiefs receiver DeAndre Hopkins reached his first Super Bowl, though the game wasn't without its challenges. As Hopkins acknowledged, he didn't have his best performance during the Chiefs' 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Late in the first half, with the Chiefs facing a third-and-11, quarterback Patrick Mahomes rolled right and bought extra time before delivering a precise throw to Hopkins. The wide receiver had plenty of space ahead of him, but an awkward adjustment led to a dropped pass, much to the frustration of teammate Chris Jones on the sideline.

It seems that perhaps Hopkins is past his prime ... but still.

Following the Super Bowl, Hopkins addressed the criticism in a tweet, saying, "Don't know what you heard but I'm not done yet." However, the tweet was later deleted. The confusion surrounding his future was fueled by a fake Adam Schefter account that claimed Chiefs head coach Andy Reid had announced Hopkins' intention to retire.

Hopkins, 31, was traded to Kansas City midseason from the Tennessee Titans for a conditional fifth-round pick. The trade was seen as a significant boost for the Chiefs' offense as they made their way to the championship.

As free agency looms next month, Hopkins will become a free agent for the first time in his career. His next move—whether returning to the Chiefs or joining a new team—remains uncertain as the veteran receiver contemplates his future in the NFL.
