It's been a so-so start to the season for Kansas City Chiefs rapidly aging tight end Travis Kelce. But hey, the two-time defending Super Bowl champions are 3-0 (by the hair of their chinny chin chins).

And per Kelce, the record is the only thing that matters to him. That's a good thing, as Kelce has been held in check — to the tune of eight catches for 69 yards. Not bad numbers, but certainly not Kelce numbers.
Nonetheless, he told brother Jason Kelce on the New Heights podcast that opposing defenses may be playing him differently this season.
"I've had a lot of catches in this league, man," he said, via Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk. "I'm not worried about the catches and the yards and all that. I have the most fun when the ball is thrown my way, who doesn't? It has everything to do with execution, just making sure we're doing whatever we can to win these football games, man. That's always going to be the goal."
Things actually weren't much different last season, when Kelce's numbers were down ... until the NFL playoffs and Super Bowl. He came alive when it mattered most.
"Kelce's production was an issue at points last season as well, but he was back to being a major weapon in the postseason as the Chiefs won their second straight Super Bowl," Alper wrote. "No one in Kansas City or the Kelce family is likely to complain if things were to follow a similar script this year."
