The Cleveland Browns are signing veteran offensive guard Derrick Kelly, league sources tell FanBuzz.

Kelly, 27, has appeared in seven games since signing as an undrafted free agent with the New Orleans Saints following the 2019 NFL Draft. The Florida State alum had previously spent time on the Saints and New York Jets' practice squads. Additionally, Kelly appeared in one game for the Carolina Panthers.

During his second stint with the Saints, back in 2020, Kelly appeared in six games, producing a a 64.2 overall grade from Pro Football Focus, along with a 72.7 pass-protection grade, and a 61.1 run-blocking mark in 16 offensive snaps.

At 6-foot-5 and 320 pounds, Kelly also offers some positional versatility, after appearing at offensive tackle for the Jets during the preseason last summer.

Kelly enters the fray in Cleveland battling for a roster spot with the likes of Michael Dunn, Drew Forbes, and Wes Martin.

While the Browns' offensive line is one of the most dominant in the NFL, Kelly adds quality depth along the interior, and could push for a roster spot coming out of training camp.
