Commanders Pro Bowl Safety Jeremy Reaves Celebrates Playoff-Clinching Win By Proposing To His Girlfriend

The Washington Commanders defeated the Atlanta Falcons 30-24 in overtime on Sunday night to clinch a Wild Card playoff berth, which gave a perfect opportunity for star defensive back Jeremy Reaves to ask his girlfriend, Mikaela Worley, to marry him.

Following the game Reaves helped Worley onto the Northwest Stadium field before getting down on one knee and popping the question.

Worley said, "Yes," as the bride-to-be and Pro Bowl safety celebrated with the rest of Reaves' teammates.

Later that night Reaves wrote a heartfelt message on Instagram.

"A year ago I was at one of my lowest. A year later, you helped get me back to my best!" Reaves wrote, which may have been referring to his 2023 season ending after undergoing surgery for a torn ACL.

The 28-year-old continued with words of praise for his physician assistant fiancée.

"Everytime life tore me down, you built me right back up and spoke life into me! You carried the weight when I couldn't during some tough days (all that PA school definitely came in handy lol!) God makes no mistakes, and he gave me you when I needed you most! 8+ years of friendship, a lifetime to go as one! I meant it when I said 5life! I love you Mikaela R Worley PA-C."

The message was concluded with the Bible verse- Proverbs 18:22: "He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord."

Certainly, Reaves and the Commanders have a lot to be happy about on the field as well, as they now have a 11-5 record, which exceeds all expectations, considering they finished last year with a 4-13 record.

Washington's last game of the season will come versus the Dallas Cowboys on January 5 at 1:00 am ET.
