Cooper Kupp Blasts Rams For Putting Him on Trade Market: 'I Don't Agree'

The NFL season will end in just a few days after the Super Bowl between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs is decided. However, some teams are already looking to make big moves in preparation for the 2025 season. The Los Angeles Rams entered that conversation on Monday.

Cooper Kupp Doesn't Agree With Rams Choice to Trade Him

Rams star Cooper Kupp took to social media on February 3 to reveal the team's decision to trade his during the offseason. A decision that the star wide receiver says he disagrees with.

"I was informed that the team will be seeking a trade immediately and will be working with me and my family to find the right place to continue competing for championships. I don't agree with the decision and always believed it was going to begin and end in LA," Kupp wrote.

"Still, if there's one thing that I have learned over the years: there are so many things that are out of your control, but it is how you respond to these things that you will look back on and remember."

Chiefs Nearly Landed Star Wide Receiver

With the Rams struggling to start the season, one of the names that came to the surface during the NFL trade deadline in November was their star wide receiver, Cooper Kupper. Particularly with the emergence of second-year standout, Puka Nakua.

According to the NFL insider Diana Russini, the Kansas City Chiefs were very close to striking a deal to land Kupp, but they were unwilling to sacrifice high draft picks.

"The Rams and the Chiefs discussed Cooper Kupp, but the Super Bowl champs needed to trade with a team that was willing to take on a large chunk of the salary and didn't want to give up high picks. Tennessee is the team willing to play ball,Russini reported on October 23.

Kansas City fell victim to the injury bug this season. They lost two of their major playmakers in Isaiah Pacheco (who returned just before the playoffs) and Rashee Rice, so making a trade for Kupp would have made all the sense in the world. But after being unwilling to succumb to the Rams' demands they changed course and struck a deal to land All-Pro wide receiver Deandre Hopkins from the Tennesse Titans, who has been a factor in their offense since joining the team.

With Hopkins set to hit the free agent market during the offseason and the future of Travis Kelce uncertain it will be interesting to see if Kansas City revisits those talks during the offseason.
