When former Carolina Panthers cornerback Josh Norman was released by the Panthers on Wednesday, the rumors began swirling as to where arguably one of the best cornerbacks in the league would end up signing. It has taken him only two full days to make a decision, as new broke on Friday evening as to where he would end up. Just thirty minutes after Norman was reportedly choosing between the Washington Redskins and New Orleans Saints, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that Norman would be signing with the Redskins.
Per Rapoport, Norman has agreed to a five-year deal with Washington that is worth $75 million. He also is reporting that he will receive $50 million in guarantees as part of his deal, which is an insane amount of cash Norman appeared to be remaining in Carolina, but he wouldn't sign a franchise tag to stay with the Panthers, which seemed to prompt the Panthers cutting him loose. We will continue to update this story if more developments come out about Norman's deal.
