Mike Vrabel could be one of the hottest names in the upcoming NFL head coaching cycle, and there's already buzz about a high-profile destination: the Dallas Cowboys.

According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Vrabel is viewed as a "prime" candidate for 2025, with Dallas potentially eyeing him if they move on from Mike McCarthy.
Vrabel's resume speaks for itself. In six seasons with the Titans, he went 54-45 and led the team to multiple playoff appearances. His firing earlier this year raised plenty of eyebrows, especially since Tennessee has cratered to a 3-10 record under new head coach Brian Callahan. Let's just say the grass wasn't greener.
At only 49, Vrabel isn't just experienced — he's in his coaching prime. He's also likely to be selective about his next gig, and that's where things get interesting. Dallas is a marquee franchise, but working under Jerry Jones isn't for everyone.
Jones, at 82, still runs the show as general manager and makes plenty of football decisions. How much roster control Vrabel would want — and how much Jones would actually give him — could be a sticking point.
As for McCarthy, there's no guarantee Dallas cuts ties. His contract doesn't extend beyond 2024, but Jones hasn't ruled out an extension, especially with the team dealing with key injuries this season, including to Dak Prescott. Still, the Cowboys are under immense pressure to contend every year, and a disappointing finish could lead to big changes.
If the Cowboys do go after Vrabel, they won't be alone. His proven track record and leadership make him a top-tier option for several teams. For now, it's a waiting game, but don't be surprised if Vrabel is pacing the sidelines somewhere next season—and maybe in Dallas.
