Cris Collinsworth Has Fans Livid During Sunday Night Football

But despite the importance of this Sunday night clash, fans were distracted from the action on the field. That is because Sunday Night Football color commentator, Cris Collinsworth, had fans up in arms over his analysis during the contest between Houston and Detroit.

They didn't hesitate to voice their displeasure on social media.

"Weekly Cris Collinsworth sucks tweet," one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"I hate Cris Collinsworth," another user added.

Dan Campbell Gets Honest on Newly Acquired Star

At the NFL Trade Deadline, the Lions firmed up their roster even more, landing star pass-rusher Za'Darius Smith from the Cleveland Browns. It bodes well for them, especially after losing star pass-rusher Aidan Hutchinson with a leg injury earlier this year. Lions head coach Dan Cambell is hyped about their trade deadline acquisition.

"He brings an element of toughness. Smart football players can set an edge, can get an edge and rush, and close the pocket down. He's just a really good complementary piece," Campbell said.

"I think it's gonna work well with our guys. He provides, really, a lot. I feel like this guy is a total defensive end, and certainly, he can get to the quarterback."

The Detroit Lions had a bitter ending to last season, losing in the NFC Championship game to the San Francisco 49ers after holding a double-digit lead.

But they have turned that pain into prowess, once again proving to be one of the NFL's most elite teams. They handed the 5-0 Minnesota Vikings their first loss of the year, earlier this season. They have also scored impressive victories over the Seattle Seahawks, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Dallas Cowboys.

It will be interesting to see if their success during the regular season will translate to a deep playoff run.
