Decision reached on NFL QB who was charged with allegedly pulling a loaded gun on his wife

He was arrested after allegedly pointing a gun and saying “I’ll kill you, bitch.”

According to TMZ, former NFL quarterback Tavaris Jackson will not be prosecuted for allegedly pointing a loaded gun at his wife and threatening to shoot her.

Jackson was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, but the Assistant State Attorney noted there wasn't enough evidence to get a conviction if the case moved forward, per TMZ:

"From the investigation which has been made, it is the opinion of the writer that this case is not suitable for prosecution."

According to the police report obtained by Deadspin, Jackson was arrested after he allegedly pointed a loaded gun at his wife after 3 a.m. and said "I'll kill you, bitch."

Jackson was later released on $2,500 bond.

According to the report, Jackson had spent most of a trip to Alabama arguing with his wife, left and returned intoxicated. He reportedly kicked in the bedroom door, started arguing and then packed his stuff to leave.

That's when police say she grabbed a knife in fear of what Jackson would do next since he allegedly had hit her before. His wife then reportedly returned upstairs with the knife as Jackson was walking down the stairs.

The report states that another adult at the home intervened and prevented Jackson from using the firearm after he reportedly pointed it at her. Police were called for a domestic disturbance, and Jackson was arrested.

Jackson was reportedly under the influence of alcohol during the incident. The police report also shows that marijuana was found at the scene of the argument.

Jackson was selected by the Vikings in the second round of the 2006 draft. He has since played for Buffalo and Seattle, throwing for 7,263 yards and 39 touchdowns against 35 interceptions in his career.

Jackson was booked on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is currently a free agent.
