The Cleveland Browns own the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft and it is gut check time for the organization. Throughout the process, the conventional wisdom has been that the Browns should select Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett, simply because he is the best overall prospect available.

However, more and more information has leaked that the Browns could be considering North Carolina QB Mitchell Trubisky at the No. 1 spot and it does not appear as if Clemson QB Deshaun Watson is very happy about it.
QB Deshaun Watson respects all prospects but told me it'd be a "slap in the face" if Mitchell Trubisky went 1st gvn his championship resume.

Watson's college football resume is (much) better than Trubisky's profile, including two consecutive trips to the College Football Playoff and a National Championship in 2016. However, Trubisky's "upside" is considered, at least by some, to be higher and Watson has not fully factored into the discussion for the top spot in quite some time.
By all accounts, Watson is a tremendous individual that is well respected for his personality and leadership traits. To that end, this is probably a situation in which he is simply more confident in himself than anything else but the statement acts simultaneously as a negative toward Trubisky and that won't necessarily play well. We won't know who the Cleveland Browns select until Thursday night but Watson won't be a big fan if it is Trubisky.
