Williams released a statement following the reports (per ESPN), stating that, he has "no choice but to take it on the chin... I'm in good spirits just ready to get back with the my brothers ASAP soon as possible."

The league has yet to officially announce the suspension or the details of the violation, though it sounds like Williams won't appeal. That is to say, in view of the upcoming schedule, Williams will be eligible to return Week 10 vs. the Houston Texans.

So far Williams has appeared in all six games this season, and has caught 17 passes for a career-high 361 yards, to go with three receiving touchdowns. With this in mind, the 23-year-old receiver is currently ranked second (rec. yards/rec. TD's) on the team behind Amon-Ra St. Brown (401 receiving yards; 4 TD's).

Notably, this will already be Williams' second suspension since he was selected as the No. 22 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Alabama. To point out, last year Williams was suspended for four games after he was caught betting on non-NFL games.

Coming off of a 31-29 win vs. the previously unbeaten Minnesota Vikings last week, the Detroit Lions are currently sitting atop the NFC North division with a 5-1 record.

The next two games (vs. the Tennessee Titans and Green Bay Packers) will have to played without Williams, which may result in more targets for supporting-cast receivers Kalif Raymond, Tim Patrick, and Allen Robinson.
