One day after stepping down from her role as an NFL insider for The Athletic amid a high-profile controversy, Russini was reportedly involved in helping at the scene of a car crash in Wyckoff, New Jersey.
According to local reports, a Jeep driven by a 73-year-old man was struck by a Honda Civic and flipped onto its side. The driver and his dog were trapped inside.
That's when Russini entered the picture.
An eyewitness told Page Six that Russini rushed toward the wreck and assisted in pulling the man and his dog to safety with the help of another bystander. A second account said a man reached the vehicle first and freed the driver, while Russini helped care for the dog after it was removed.
Police later arrived and credited bystanders for assisting before first responders got there.
The incident comes on the heels of a turbulent week tied to Russini and Mike Vrabel, head coach of the New England Patriots. Photos published by Page Six appeared to show the two together at a resort in Arizona, sparking widespread attention. Both denied any romantic involvement and said they were with a larger group.
An internal review followed, and Russini ultimately chose to step away.
"I have no interest in submitting to a public inquiry that has already caused far more damage than I am willing to accept," she said in a statement announcing her departure. She added that she did not agree with the narrative surrounding the situation but wanted to move on before it defined her career.
Russini has not publicly commented on the crash.
It has been a lot in a short time. One minute, she's at the center of a media storm. The next, she's part of a real-life emergency response on the side of the road.
