Bills Pro Bowler Goes Off On Jets During Odd Shirtless Interview

Buffalo Bills tackle Dion Dawkins quickly thwarted any feelings of NFL offseason dullness.

Buffalo Bills three-time Pro Bowl offensive lineman Dion Dawkins went completely scorched earth on the New York Jets during a recent interview with VLADTV that can probably best be described as a hypocritical mess.

Sitting back and relaxing on a couch, topless no less, Dawkins didn't waste much time in getting straight to the point on his feelings regarding the Jets and "weirdos being weird":

"Weirdos being weird. Haha, weirdos being weird," Dawkins began. "You know, I don't want to give the man no credit. But number 72, Micheal Clemons. Bitch boy, bitch boy. You know, I'm just gonna keep it a buck. I hate them. All of them, bro. They are all some, like ... when it come to sports, right? There's people that play the sport, because they love the sport. And then there's people that play the sport just to try to be cool. I feel like they play the sport to try to be cool. Like, those are a bunch of dudes that just want to take pictures on Instagram. That's wack. I play this because I die by it."

There is a lot to dive into here, but first things first. It's 2024. Professional athletes posting photos on Instagram of their latest fits, whips and whatever else they might feel the need to put on display is hardly a new thing. So it's a pretty comical angle to take, since nearly everyone does it to some degree — Dawkins included.

What makes the emphasis on this whole Jets "trying to be cool" thing even funnier is the words are being spewed from a man sitting on a couch, clad in three chains and no shirt. If that's not a glaring example of someone making a concerted effort to look as cool as possible in an interview where cameras are clearly rolling, then we'll need an updated definition of what "trying to be cool" means.

Jets All-Pro cornerback Sauce Gardner was quick to call out that exact thing once the Dawkins clip began making the rounds on the social media:

It took Gardner one brief sentence — accompanied by countless "crying laughing" emojis — to fittingly point out the obvious hypocrisy. And rightfully so. No further words were needed.

But while Dawkins will likely continue to take a whole lot of flak for dropping this WWE-like promo, it's important to note that any kind of "heat" developing between NFL teams — whether it's coming from one side or both — is a great thing for literally everyone.

For example, the back-and-forth that went down last offseason between the 49ers and Eagles set the stage for what proved to be an awesome scene for a rematch in Philadelphia that was loaded to the gills with fireworks, all the way to the bizarre and hilarious discovery of "Big Dom."

The Jets and Bills are division rivals, so fans will be treated with some extra spice since they will meet twice during the 2024 regular season. Even better, it's not even March, and we already have words from both sides being exchanged.

As for Dawkins and his highly descriptive reference to Jets defensive tackle Clemons — skip to the 1:20 mark of this clip — the scorching beef was apparently birthed during one of their two meetings last season. It all went down during a TV timeout when, Dawkins claims, Clemons began talking to "17" (Josh Allen) and then proceeded to go down the line, one by one, talking an extensive amount of smack to every member of the Bills' offense who was on the field at the time.

This could all be analyzed several different ways; but given the exorbitant amount of time that Dawkins spent discussing Clemons, the phrase "rent free" certainly comes to mind. Yet regardless of where fans might stand on this, a response from Clemons now feels like a must — the sooner the better, in fact.
