YouTube TV officially acknowledged on Sunday that customers are getting a $20 credit, given that ESPN and ABC are still gone.

The platform emailed subscribers saying a follow-up message is coming "over the next few days" with instructions on how to redeem the $20. Once redeemed, the credit will apply to the next monthly bill.
YouTube TV had previously said that if the Disney blackout stretched beyond a certain window, customers would get a rebate. Sunday's announcement makes it clear that no deal is imminent.
And that means another Monday Night Football will not be available for YouTube TV users. This week it's Eagles vs Packers — one of the biggest games of the entire NFL regular season.
The Athletic reported late last week that the two sides remain "far apart" on carriage rate pricing. YouTube TV wants to pay a rate aligned with what the country's largest distributors pay. They're currently fourth — but projections say they could be No. 1 as early as next year.
Disney, meanwhile, continues to take a financial hit every day this continues. Reported estimates have ESPN's linear bundle worth around $15 per month per subscriber to distributors. That means Disney is missing out on roughly $5 million per day with its networks dark on YouTube TV — more than $50 million so far.
Both sides are dug in. Customers are stuck in the middle. And Week 2 of missed ESPN programming is now here.
