The waiting game on Tua Tagovailoa isn't the only thing happening with the Miami Dolphins. Not even close.

The Dolphins are making loud, expensive decisions elsewhere, starting with two of the biggest names on the roster.
Miami is releasing wide receiver Tyreek Hill, per ESPN's Adam Schefter, along with edge rusher Bradley Chubb, first reported by NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Hill's exit is the headline. The eight-time Pro Bowler is coming off a brutal knee injury suffered in September against the Jets, a dislocation with a torn ACL. He turns thirty-one this spring and will hit unrestricted free agency for the first time. The move clears $22.8 million in cap space.
That's not nothing.
Hill was acquired from Kansas City in 2022 for a massive haul that included a first-round pick. He delivered production, star power, and plenty of attention. Some of it unwanted. A domestic dispute last April required police involvement but resulted in no charges. A previous investigation during his Chiefs tenure also ended without charges. Miami is moving on anyway.
Chubb's release is more about math than headlines. The former fifth overall pick logged twenty-two sacks in forty-one games with the Dolphins but carries heavy money. Cutting him saves $7.3 million now, potentially $20.3 million if designated after June one, while swallowing significant dead cap.
This is a roster reset. Clear and intentional.
Miami recently hired Jeff Hafley as head coach and still owes Tua Tagovailoa $54 million guaranteed next season. A decision there is coming.
The Dolphins are telling the league who they are right now.
And who they're done paying.
