Vic Fangio's group harassed Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes during the Super Bowl 57 rematch while registering six sacks and holding him to under 200 passing yards until late in the fourth quarter.

This group forced two interceptions during the first half, including a pick-six from rookie cornerback Cooper DeJean. The defense added a strip sack during the fourth quarter that was reminiscent of Brandon Graham's big play from Super Bowl 52.

Simply forcing turnovers was not the only way the Eagles delivered on defense. This unit held Mahomes scoreless in the first half, the first time this has happened since the 2021 season when the Chiefs lost by 24 points to the Titans.

Of course, the Eagles' defense was not the only unit performing worthy of the Lombardi Trophy. The offense also accounted for multiple touchdowns.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts rushed 11 times for 72 yards and a touchdown. He completed 17 of his 22 attempted passes for 221 yards and another two scores before the Eagles put in backup Kenny Pickett for mop-up duty.

While the Eagles' defense held the Chiefs' offense in check and forced six punts, Mahomes was able to avoid the shutout with some touchdowns during the second half.

The first score was a 24-yard pass to rookie wideout Xavier Worthy. Mahomes made the throw on the run during the third quarter to put six points on the board. The two-point conversion failed.

Mahomes delivered another touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter. He hit DeAndre Hopkins for a seven-yard score and then found Justin Watson for the two-point conversion. This made the score 40-14 with 2:54 remaining on the clock.

The final touchdown came in garbage time after the Eagles put Pickett in the game. The Chiefs took over after a turnover on downs and then Mahomes found Worthy for a 50-yard score. He found Hopkins for a two-point conversion to make the final score 40-22.

The late touchdowns made the final score closer on paper, but the Chiefs were never in contention for the win. The defense held Mahomes and co. in check in all four quarters and successfully got revenge for the Super Bowl 57 loss.
