Eagles reportedly pursued this college coach, which could hint at team's next QB

This would be an interesting fit.

Sam Bradford's lone year in Philadelphia didn't quite go over as expected, helping lead to head coach Chip Kelly being fired just under three years into his tenure.

As the Eagles look for their head coach, you can cross at least one candidate off the list:

That differs from a previous report noting Sumlin was itching to get into the NFL.

The note that the Eagles were eyeing Sumlin is interesting based on his relationship with the much-maligned, but supremely talented former Texas A&M quarterback, Johnny Manziel. Bradford will be a free agent this summer and it wouldn't be a shocker if he isn't retained.

Manziel and Bradford were part of trade rumors last summer involving the Eagles and Browns.

Manziel is expected to be available this summer, and he could be an interesting fit in Philly based on the personnel available for the Eagles.
