That's because Kellen Moore is finalizing a deal to become the next head coach of the New Orleans Saints, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero, and Mike Garafolo reported Tuesday. The 35-year-old offensive coordinator will succeed Dennis Allen, who was fired after the Saints finished the 2024 season with a disappointing 5-12 record.

Moore's hiring comes just days after he helped the Philadelphia Eagles secure a Super Bowl LIX victory over the Kansas City Chiefs at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. The Eagles' high-powered offense, led by Moore, was pivotal in their 40-22 win, capped by quarterback Jalen Hurts' three-touchdown, Super Bowl MVP performance.

Saints general manager Mickey Loomis informed other head coaching candidates of Moore's selection, signaling a clear choice for the future of the team. This move continues Moore's pattern of switching teams, as this will be his fourth consecutive season in a new role. Prior to his time in Philadelphia, Moore spent five seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, the last four as offensive coordinator, before joining the Los Angeles Chargers for one year in 2023.

Moore's rapid rise through the ranks now leads him to New Orleans, where he will look to rebuild a team that has struggled in recent years. The Saints are hoping Moore's innovative offensive mind can spark a turnaround, as the team seeks to return to playoff contention after a series of underwhelming campaigns.
