Falcons Knock Vikings Rookie QB Jarren Hall From Game After Vicious Collision

For the second consecutive week, the Minnesota Vikings saw their starting quarterback knocked from the game.

One week after Kirk Cousins ruptured his Achilles tendon, causing the Vikings to trade for veteran Joshua Dobbs to replace him, Minnesota rookie quarterback Jarren Hall was knocked from Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons after a nasty collision down near the goal-line.

With 2:49 remaining against the Falcons, at Mercedes Benz Stadium, Hall sprinted towards the endzone on 3rd and goal from the four-yard line, only to suffer a bone-rattling collision with Atlanta cornerback Jeffrey Okudah.

You can check out video of the hit that sent Hall to the locker room below:

Hall was given the nod to start Sunday afternoon, because the Vikings had hoped to give Dobbs the opportunity to get more familiar with the offense, after arriving via a trade just prior to Tuesday's deadline. Instead, Dobbs was forced into action, after making eight starts with the Arizona Cardinals prior to getting dealt.

Before getting injured, Hall, who was chosen by the Vikings in the fifth-round of this spring's NFL Draft, completed 5-of-6 passing attempts for 78 yards, while adding two rushes for 11 yards.

As halftime approached in Atlanta, the Vikings trailed the Falcons 8-3, after Atlanta logged a safety when Calais Campbell sacked Dobbs in the end zone.

Dobbs arrives in Minnesota having completed 62.8 percent of his passes for 1,569 yards with eight touchdowns to five interceptions.

The Vikings acquired Dobbs in hopes that his experience could be a steadying force for the offense, and keep Minnesota in the throes of the NFC North Division and NFC Wild Card races over the course of the final eight games of the regular season.

Now, Dobbs gets the chance to prove whether he's capable, a bit before many expected him to take the field in a Vikings uniform.
