Fans Concerned For 49ers Star Christian McCaffrey After Grim Injury Update

The San Francisco 49ers blew a 10-point lead late in the fourth quarter and lost to the Los Angeles Rams. They are now 2-1 on the season and sit in 4th place in the NFC West. But that is not the worst news that the team received this week. The 49ers also received a grim update about their star running back Christian McCaffrey.

49ers Get Grim Injury Update on Christian McCaffrey

The 49ers shocked everyone at the beginning of the season when they revealed that McCaffrey wouldn't suit up for their home opener against the New York Jets in Week 1 because he was dealing with Achilles Tendonitis. But the initial prognosis was that he would be able to return this season.

But that prognosis is proving to be a falsehood after the latest report from ESPN Senior NFL Insider, Adam Schefter. According to Schefter, McCaffrey is flying to Germany this week to get further evaluation on the injury.

"And to top it off, 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey is seeing a specialist in Germany regarding his Achilles tendinitis," Schefter Tweeted on September 21.

Fans React to Star Running Back's Injury Update

As one might expect, fans around the NFL were concerned regarding the seriousness of McCaffrey's injury.

"Starting to get the feeling he's not going to play this year," one fan wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"Overseas medical care can't be a good thing," another fan added.

"Aka he's going to get a procedure not allowed in the States...don't blame him," another fan suggested.

"So sad  Hope he gets a treatment he needs," another fan said.

However, not every fan was concerned. Some took the opportunity to kick the 49ers while they were down.

"At least I'll sleep better knowing Kyle Shanahan will never win a Super Bowl in his life," one fan said.

"All that "we will be back" is looking more and more difficult which is why when you get there you gotta win it & they went twice "Best team in the league my ass," another fan boasted.

That wasn't the only bad news that the 49ers got. Their starting quarterback, Brock Purdy has back soreness and is listed as day-to-day.

The injuries are starting to pile up for San Francisco as Deebo Samuel and George Kittle were sidelined on Sunday.
