Fans Go Scorched Earth on Joe Buck During MNF
However, despite the level of star power on the field in the final Monday Night Football game of the season, fans were more interested in what was going on in the booth.
Monday Night Football analyst Joe Buck came under fire during the telecast. In what has become a weekly tradition, fans took their final opportunity to take shots at Monday Night Football analyst Joe Buck as they were displeased with his analysis during the telecast.
Viewers voiced their disappointment on social media during the game.
"The game hasn't started and Joe Buck already f***** up, called the Rams a dangerous wild card team," one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"Joe buck and doofus aikman? Gross" another fan added.
Analyst Gets Candid on Move to ESPN
The Monday Night Football analyst job is one of the most coveted gigs in the industry. And, although the job comes with a plethora of criticism from the viewers, Buck remains grateful for the opportunity. But he says making the transition to ESPN from Fox was an opportunity that seemingly came out of nowhere.
"It was so out of nowhere. If you think about it, we're not that far removed from the Super Bowl and I left the Super Bowl thinking I was gonna at worst have Troy in kind of a split setup [with Amazon] where I would get him for the late afternoon games, postseason and Super Bowl, which was great," Buck said.
"[Fox] They have their reasons and they have the business that they're running, and Troy had an out and he had a chance to go out on the market and see what he [could] get. But I think all along, his No. 1 choice was to go back to Fox, and that's what I was hoping for and that didn't materialize."
