Fans Irate After Uneventful Thursday Night Football First Half
But despite the anticipation for this matchup, fans were displeased — due to an uneventful first half between the two NFC heavyweights. At the two-minute warning, the Commanders led the Eagles 7-3.
The offense was at a minimum and fans voiced their displeasure on social media.
"Every single Thursday night game besides 3 have been a**. Two of the exciting games have been from the Ravens," one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"This game is starting to remind me of why I never liked these Thursday night football games. They are often borderline unwatchable like tonight," another fan added.
A.J. Brown Gets Honest on Eagles' Offensive Versatility
The Eagles were slow out of the gates to start the season. After four games, they were 2-2 and didn't look like a team with the makings of a title contender. But after a pedestrian start the Eagles have caught fire, and so far, no team has been able to put the flame out, as they have won five consecutive games.
The Eagles have built their way back to the top of the NFC East in a myriad of ways. Because their head coach Nick Sirianni has proven to be versatile with his offensive approach with an elite passing game and punishing running game. Eagles star receiver A.J. Brown believes that is what ultimately has been their recipe for success this season.
"You want to be able to win in multiple ways," Brown said. "And as we continue to build, I think we'll continue to see that even more. That's what the good offenses have. They're capable of doing both. They're not one-dimensional. So, we just want to continue to build, build our toolbox, build our portfolio, if you will, of what we can do, and how efficiently we can do all these different things."
However, Brown also added that as competitors, the versatility can sometimes be frustrating, but winning remains the ultimate goal.
"It's like a good and bad thing. We're happy the guys [run] the ball. But we want the ball, too. But it happens. You're onto the next game. You take it. So, it's all good," he added.
