Fans Livid With Cris Collinsworth During Sunday Night Football
Despite the importance of the matchup, viewers had their attention turned towards Sunday Night Football analyst, Cris Collinsworth. Fans were not happy with his analysis at the start of the game and voiced their disdain on social media.
"Is it too early to say shut the f**k up Cris collinsworth?" one fan asked on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"The voice of Cris Collinsworth = nails on a chalkboard," another person added.
Analyst Set to Sign Extension With NBC
Collinsworth joined the Sunday Night Football crew in 2009, to replace legendary coach and broadcaster, John Madden. Since then, Collinsworth has become one of the more recognizable voices in all of sports as he projects into the homes of millions of people on Sunday nights. He has also called several Super Bowl games.
People who are not fans of Collinsworth's won't be thrilled to hear the latest report from the Athletic. According to the outlet, Colllinsworth and NBC are working out the details of a multi-year extension for him to remain with the network until 2030.
"NBC Sports is working toward a deal that will keep Cris Collinsworth as its lead NFL game analyst through the end of the decade, putting him in line to call two more Super Bowls, sources briefed on the discussions told The Athletic," The Athletic writes.
"When the agreement goes through, as expected, Collinsworth, 65, will be analyzing NBC's "Sunday Night Football" prime time games with Mike Tirico through the 2029-2030 season. Collinsworth currently makes around $12.5 million a year, according to sources briefed on his deal. The new contract is expected to be a four-year agreement."
