It was a breakout season for Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen who led his team to the AFC Championship game for the second time in three seasons. And for his efforts, Allen was rewarded with the 2025 NFL MVP Award.

Allen put up eye-popping numbers during the regular season, ending 2024 with 4,376 passing yards, 32, touchdowns and only 6 interceptions.
However, many fans were displeased that he was awarded the honor over Lamar Jackson who finished the season with more touchdowns and less interception than Allen and Eagles running back Saquon Barkley who led the Eagles to the Super Bowl after becoming just the ninth player in NFL history to accrue 2,000 rushing yards.
Fans went off on social media after the winner was announced.
"It's a real shame that voter fatigue robbed Lamar Jackson of a deserving 3rd MVP. By every imaginable metric, he deserved it this year,"one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"Saquon Barkley was very clearly the MVP of the NFL this year. At this point, they should stop calling it the MVP and start calling it the QB Award," another user added.
Texans GM Says Justin Herbest Deserved MVP Consideration
After a lackluster 2023 season, the Los Angeles Chargers returned with a vengeance. Under the leadership of first-year head coach Jim Harbaugh, the Chargers fell short of capturing the AFC West division title but finished with an 11-6 record. In addition, Justin Herbert has looked like a brand-new quarterback under the new Harbaugh regime. He went for 3,870 passing yards, 23 touchdowns, and just 2 interceptions during the regular season.
Despite a breakout season for Herbert in 2024, he was not a finalist for this year's MVP. For most of the year, it was a two-man race between Allen and Jackson. However, Houston Texans General Manager Nick Caserio said he believes Herbert has earned the right to be in those conversations after an impressive regular season.
"He won't win the MVP, but honestly, like you can make a cogent argument for why he should," Caserio said. "I mean you're talking about a guy who's big, who's strong, who's more athletic than people think he is, that can make plays with his legs. And [he] can get the ball basically wherever he wants [it] to go."
