Fans Outraged With Cris Collinsworth During SNF
However, even with the magnified importance of this game, fans had their attention diverted elsewhere during the Sunday Night Football matchup between the Falcons and Commanders.
NBC Sports analyst, Cris Collinsworth came under fire during the Sunday Night Football broadcast. In what has become a weekly tradition on Sunday nights, several fans on social media expressed their disdain for Collinsworth's analysis.
"Cris collinsworth about to break some meat riding records tonight," one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"What's the chances Cris Collinsworth doesn't glaze Jayden Daniels tonight?" another fan added.
"Weekly Cris Collinsworth sucks tweet," another person said.
Falcons' Penix Already Drawing Eyes Around the NFL
The Falcons made the decision to bench Kirk Cousins for rookie quarterback Michael Penix in Week 16. Penix's debut for the Falcons wasn't much of an upgrade. He threw for just 202 yards, 1 interception, and zero touchdowns. But what is most important is that they trounced the New York Giants 34-7. With the Falcons clinging on to a narrow lead in the NFC South, they'll need a bigger performance from their rookie quarterback this week.
But despite a pedestrian performance from Penix in his debut, he is already impressing some of his contemporaries throughout the league.
"He can really throw the ball. I mean, he has a laser," Commanders defensive coordinator Joe Whitt Jr. said. "He's going to be protected by a veteran offensive line. And so, they'll be able to do a good job of protecting him, and we have to just do a good job of changing the looks on them and making it tough for him."
