Fans React After Lions Star Aidan Hutchinson Suffers Gruesome Injury vs. Cowboys

The Detroit Lions had not beaten the Dallas Cowboys since 2013. And they came into their Week 7 matchup in Dallas looking to reverse their fortunes. The Lions made a statement on Sunday, with under 13 minutes to go in the third quarter they led the Cowboys 34-6. But things quickly took a turn for the worst.

Fans React to Aidan Hutchinson's Gruesome Leg Injury

As Lions star pass rusher Aidan Hutchinson attempted to tackle Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, he ran into his own teammate and suffered a pretty gruesome leg injury. So gruesome that the NFL on Fox broadcast refused to even show the replay. Hutchinson was carted off by the team's training staff with members of both teams sending him their well wishes before he was taken into the tunnel area.

Still, some fans got to see the injury live, which left them feeling concerned for the star defensive end.

"This is an insane way to snap your leg. I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like that before," one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"That's 100 percent emergency surgery right away holy s*** man this is career and life-altering," another user added.

Micah Parsons Declares Lions, Cowboys A Rivalry

Coming into Sunday's matchup the Cowboys had beaten the Lions five consecutive times dating back to 2015. But despite the Cowboys' recent dominance over Detroit, their star pass-rusher Micah Parson believes that the two squads have a budding rivalry,

"This is a rivalry. The Cowboys definitely got their hands full, man. This is a great team. This is a great team," Parsons said. "Obviously went to the NFC championship game last year, they've been accomplishing so many great things so far. Dan Campbell is definitely looking for his look back. You kind of saw his frustration."

The Cowboys star also praised the Lions' offense as one of their greatest strengths.

"I think what makes them a tough team is obviously a great run game with Montgomery, Jahmyr Gibbs, I mean thunder and lightning. (Amon-Ra) St. Brown is about as explosive and shifty as good of a receiver as it can get," Parsons added. "(Jared) Goff, from his situation in L.A., it's been night and day how good he's been in his career and obviously Aidan Hutchinson is playing at a defensive player of the year level right now."
