The highly anticipated Super Bowl LIX showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles quickly turned into a snooze fest Sunday night, that resulted in many people either falling asleep or turning off their TV's before the game was over.

Viewing this as a rematch of Super Bowl LVII, the Eagles certainly came out looking for revenge, and they were able to spoil the Chiefs' chances of a three-peat in dominant fashion.
That is, the suffocating Eagles defense did not leave any room for Patrick Mahomes to operate most of the night.
Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has been under pressure on (50.0%) of his dropbacks and has a 40.0% pressure to sack rate tonight. One of the worst nights of his career..

The 3x Super Bowl-winning quarterback had a mere six pass completions (6-of-14, 33 yards) in the first half, to go with two interceptions, one of which included a costly pick-six thrown to rookie Cooper DeJean.

Almost every time Mahomes dropped back to pass, he was under pressure, as the Eagles racked up six sacks and 11 QB hits in total.

Renditions of "Fly! Eagles! Fly!" were echoing throughout the Ceasar's Superdome after every score, which probably got stuck in people's heads, considering the lead grew up to 34-0 towards the end of the third quarter.

Those who tuned in to watch (except fans from Philadelphia) expressed frustration with what they saw out there on the field, as the viewers at home let it be known how big of a letdown the big game turned out to be.
This will be the first Super Bowl in my life that I turn off before it’s over. I love seeing the Chiefs get humiliated, but this is just excruciatingly boring. Terrible game, terrible half time show. Bad product all around.

All in all, after 728 straight days of the Chiefs being named defending Super Bowl champs, many are relieved that there is finally a new team in possession of the Lombardi trophy.

Claiming a 40-22 victory, the Eagles have now won their second Super Bowl in franchise history (modern era), as many might remember a Nick Foles led team also prevailed 41-33 over Tom Brady's New England Patriots in 2018 (Super Bowl LII).

In view of the postgame celebrations following Super Bowl 59, there is no doubt that the city of Philadelphia will experience pandemonium tonight, which may carry over for the whole week, and possibly throughout the entire offseason.
