But despite the high stakes in this matchup, it was a former player who stole the headlines ahead of Sunday's matchup. Former New England Patriots legend Tom Brady, was called to the forefront before the Commanders and Eagles even took the field on Sunday.
Fans were eager to point out the seven-time Super Bowl champions appearance in the broadcast booth ahead of the highly anticipated matchup.
"Tom Brady's Botox face is weird and creepy. Dude, did Peyton Manning convince you that you should do that?" one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"Did Tom Brady hit the Botox hard or is that just his face?" another person added.
Terrell Owens Rips Tom Brady
Brady appears to be enjoying retirement quite well. Despite the constant criticism from fans, the future Hall of Fame appears to be settling into his role as lead NFL analyst on Fox. But the New England Patriots legend appears to still be fighting the ghosts of his playing days.
During an appearance on The Volume's "The Bubba Dub Show" Hall of Fame wide receiver Terrell Owens recalled being shunned by the star quarterback. Owens revealed that he reached out to Tom. In an effort to offer his services during his final season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2022. However, Brady never responded to his offer, which Owens found highly-offensive.
"Tom Brady ignored me, bro. I reached out to him through Randy [Moss] and a couple of other people, you know this dude really ignored me, bro," Owens said.
"It just shows you the lack of respect at the end of the day, but when they get in front of you they want to act like they respect you."
