Fans Enraged After Another Thursday Night Football Snoozefest
But the highly-anticipated matchup between the Bengals and Ravens underdelivered as there was a glaring lack of offense. At the two-minute warning, the game was tied 7-7. Fans voiced their displeasure with the uneventful first half on social media.
"THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST STOP MAKING THEM PLAY SHORT WEEKS YOU DUMB F***S," one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"Another s****y Thursday night football game per usual," another user said with disgust.
Former Bengals Star Details Conversation With Struggling Rookie
Rookie wide receiver Jermaine Burton was expected to be one of the key pieces in the Bengals' offense this season. But to this point, it has been a struggle for the Bengals receiver. He has just two receptions for 88 yards. But the rookie wideout has gained a mentor in former Bengals wide receiver TJ Houshmandzadeh, who said he had a lengthy conversation with Burton amid his recent struggles.
"I had a loooooong—L-O-O-O-O-O-O-N-G conversation with him. And, so, just hope the words resonate 'cause I can't do it for him. I can give him advice, I can talk to him, but ultimately, he has to decide that this is something he wants to do," the former Bengals star wide receiver said.
"And, if this is something you decide you don't want to do, you won't be doing it, and you'll be doing something else that you don't want to do. So, it's very simple: I don't think people realize that playing in the NFL is the best time of your life, and it's over just like that. So, again, we had a nice conversation. I hope I helped. I would like to believe I did because of how transparent—no gray area with me, man...so, I hope I was able to help."
