Fantasy Football Start Sit: Week 13

At this point in the fantasy season, every decision matters. Maybe you're one win away from locking in a playoff spot, or maybe you're fighting to avoid a last-place punishment. Either way, one lineup choice could make or break your week. Here are our Week 13 starts and sits to help you keep your season alive.

Running Backs
Start: Jaylen Warren
Fantasy football analysis is an art, but you can quantify it. For running backs, touches + skill ?— 2 = a number that you can use to compare players. Warren's skill has been inconsistent this year, but his touches have been steady, getting at least 13 in six of the last seven games. In a Pittsburgh offense that relies heavily on the run, Warren should get enough volume to warrant a start.

Sit: Tony Pollard
Pollard is a solid player on an exceptionally bad team. Maybe if he were back in Dallas he would be putting up true RB2 numbers, but Tennessee still does not know who they are with a first-year quarterback and an interim head coach. Pollard will get about 10 carries a game, but he will not get you more than 50 yards and has not scored a touchdown in weeks. The talent is there, but the situation is horrible. Look elsewhere for a running back this week.

Quarterbacks
Start: Bo Nix
I do not think Nix is a good NFL quarterback, but I do think he is serviceable. No disrespect intended to Nix, but he is a sporadic player who still looks to scramble like he did in college. Luckily for him, the Broncos play a college-like team this week in Washington. Every quarterback over the last two months has picked apart the Commanders at their convenience. Nix should add to that trend today.

Sit: CJ Stroud
Stroud has devoured the largest piece of humble pie possible over the last year and a half between injuries, team failure and personal struggles. He returns for the first time in weeks just in time for the Texans to take on the Colts, who despite their loss to the Chiefs are still one of the more formidable teams in football. The Texans also do not have as many weapons as one may think. Mixon is still out and outside of Nico Collins there are not many real threats on that side of the ball. I would look elsewhere for a quarterback this week.

Wide Receivers
Start: Tetairoa McMillan
The young Panthers wide receiver is just about everything Carolina fans could have hoped for this year. His size lets him dominate in the red zone, but his speed and athleticism keep him dangerous everywhere else on the field. Tet is coming off an outlier game against the Niners where he had only two catches for 35 yards and a touchdown. I like him to bounce back at home this week.

Sit: DK Metcalf
There might not be a more athletic football player, much less wide receiver, in NFL history than Metcalf. But for all that physical superiority, he has not lived up to his promising future. This issue has only been worsened in Pittsburgh, one of the lowest passing yardage offenses in the league. Metcalf has not put up more than 15 fantasy points in PPR since Week 8 and has only done it three times all year. A tough matchup with Buffalo will not help. Look for a streamer.
