Wayne Walker, who played linebacker for the Detroit Lions from 1958-1972, passed away on Friday due to complications from Parkinson's disease. He was 80 years old.

Walker was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2010, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
After making three Pro Bowls at linebacker for the Lions, Walker went into broadcasting. He became the sports director at a CBS affiliate in San Francisco, and he was also a color analyst for NFL games for CBS.
Walker was a radio analyst for the San Francisco 49ers from 1979-81 and 1987-97. Walker attended the University of Idaho, and he was drafted in the fourth round of the 1958 NFL Draft by the Lions.
In addition to playing linebacker, Walker was also the kicker. He is still No. 9 all time in points in Lions franchise history with 345 points.
Walker is survived by his wife, Sylvia, and his three children, Steve, Doug and Kathy.
