The last time that Bryson had been seen was June 16, when he was leaving his grandmother's home in Ohio. To point out, after his mother had picked him up, his grandma was weary of letting him go, as he had signs of abuse. In view of this, the police were called, and the mom, Kristin, was pulled over while driving a car that belongs to a religious group that the Muir family has ties with, known as the Servant Leader's Foundation. That is to say, Bryson was not in the car when the vehicle was pulled over, and ever since he had disappeared.
Tonight, I spoke with the grandma of Bryson Muir. She was one of the last people to see him before he disappeared. I ask her what happened leading up to his disappearance, how he got those injuries, and what she believes is going on. That's ahead on @WTHRcom at 11. pic.twitter.com/qnoDtRdKvL

Around this time, Cass County Department of Child Services asked police to look into allegations of domestic battery toward Bryson. Both parents agreed to bring in their son, but then they backed out of it, so as a result this was seen as an "unwillingness to cooperate" and arrest warrants were issued.
Moreover, things escalated when the father/mother didn't show up to their court ordered appearance on Tuesday, and this led to the state police raiding the house.
Thereupon, after finding Bryson inside, he was recovered, and the picture his grandma had taken of his black eye has been released.
