According to TMZ, Poppinga filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles this week. He is blaming Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center for not properly taking care of Julius Poppinga after the family took him into the ICU on August 27, 2023.
The ex-NFler and his wife, Brooke, say their son Julius was brought in with chest pains and breathing issues. Then a couple days later he was going in and out of consciousness. At one point in time, the family heard him say "he was going to die," while letting out tears.
The doctor on the scene acted on this by prescribing him medication, for they thought he was having a panic attack.
The parents are now saying that the doctor on the scene wrongfully concluded this, and he passed away soon after this.
Tragically, Julius died of pulmonary embolism, which is a life-threatening blockage in a lung artery caused by a blood clot.

He is missed, but we KNOW that through the Savior, we will see him and be with him again. #famliesareforever."
