According to TMZ, Rison entered jail on Friday to serve his sentence. He is set to be released on Sunday. He also received 18 months probation. He must pay more than $2,300 in fines and fees associated with a case dating back to August 2025.

According to the court records, Rison paid $5,000 bond after his 2025 arrest in Troy, Michigan. He then entered a guilty plea during his hearing.

The 22nd overall pick in the 1989 NFL Draft, Rison entered the league as a member of the Indianapolis Colts. He caught 52 passes for more than 800 yards and four touchdowns as a rookie, and then he headed to the Atlanta Falcons via trade in 1990.

Rison achieved the most success during his five seasons in Atlanta (1990-1994). He posted four seasons with at least 1,000 yards, and he caught 56 touchdowns. He led the NFL with 15 receiving touchdowns in 1993.

The Michigan native earned four of his five trips to the Pro Bowl while playing for Atlanta, and he earned First-Team All-Pro honors in 1990.

Rison's career continued through the 2000 season. He spent 1995 with the Cleveland Browns and then he split 1996 between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Green Bay Packers.

The 1996 season featured him catching two touchdown passes from Brett Favre during the playoffs. He won a Super Bowl with the Packers, and he delivered the first points of the game on a 54-yard touchdown pass.

He spent three seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs (1997-1999) and then he closed out his career with one season with the Oakland Raiders (2000).

The veteran receiver didn't produce at the same level after leaving Atlanta, but he posted a 1,000-yard receiving season with Kansas City in 1997. He caught seven touchdown passes and earned his fifth trip to the Pro Bowl.
