Former Saints Player Junior Galette Received Over $22,000 In Traffic Tickets

Junior Galette played defensive end for the New Orleans Saints from 2010-2014, and according to reports, he owes $22,395 after accumulating 113 tickets since starting his career.

There have been notable NFL players in the past who have been caught up with reckless driving, nonetheless, it certainly seems as if Galette was trying to go for the record of having the most traffic tickets in the entire city, and he actually has competition, believe it or not.

The Fox 8-WVUE TV investigation report shows that the city of New Orleans is owed $135 million in traffic camera citations, which equals out to be 994,323 uncollected tickets since 2010.

One of the purposes of this study, was to identify who in the city owes money for traffic violations. To highlight, according to Fox8live.com, "A couple living on Filmore Avenue owes more than $116,000 across 700 tickets. The woman spoke with Fox 8 Chief Investigative Reporter Lee Zurik in 2019."

Throughout his career, the Haitian-born player recorded 34.5 sacks, notably during the 2013 season, he had a career-best 12 sacks, which was 6th-most in the league that season.

In 2014, Galette was signed to a four-year $41.5 million contract, but was released a year later, due to a domestic violence charge that was eventually dropped. After taking a three-year hiatus, Galette ended his career with the Washington Redskins in 2017.

Galette, then famously has sued the NFL $300 million in damages for racial discrimination and blacklisting him. Not to mention, he is also threatening to sue the TV station, because he claimed that he settled up his traffic fines. With that being said, according to the Fox 8 report, the former player could provide no records showing that he had paid off the tickets.
