Former Minnesota Vikings punter Chris Kluwe was thrown behind bars for a few hours following his anti-MAGA rant at a Huntington Beach city council meeting last week.

That is, Kluwe was there protesting President Trump's "Make American Great Again" slogan being featured on a commemorative plaque outside the local library.

He was charged with "disturbance of an assembly," as he stood up in front of the mic and delivered a tirade, "MAGA is profoundly corrupt, unmistakably anti-democracy, and most importantly, MAGA is explicitly a Nazi movement."
Now the retired eight-year NFL player has also reportedly lost his coaching job at Edison high school, where he had been at since 2019.
In an interview with TMZ on Friday, Kluwe said, "I'm bummed that I won't get to work with the kids anymore, because they always got excited when they figured out I played in the NFL, and I think this exemplifies what MAGA is all about."
The 43-year-old says he will continue to advocate on behalf of the anti-MAGA movement.
"They don't care about harming the community as long as they can make themselves look good. It's happening here in Huntington Beach, and it's happening nationally across our country."
Kluwe's career in the NFL lasted from 2005-2012, he is No. 1 all-time in Vikings franchise history for punts inside the 20-yard line (198) as well as second all-time for punting yards (27,683).
In a tell-all article that Kluwe wrote following his release from the team in 2013, he claims he was fired for his activism on gay marriage.
