Frank Reich is 'Done' as Panthers Head Coach, Source Believes

Frank Reich could be on the verge of being fired from two head coaching jobs in the span of just over a year.

After falling to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday afternoon, a rival NFC coach tells FanBuzz that he believes Reich is "done," in Carolina.

"The fact that Frank got that Panthers job after completely [messing] up Indianapolis," the coach says. "Was shocking."

Reich's Panthers fell behind 17-3 to the Titans in Week 12, before ultimately losing 17-10 as Carolina dropped to 1-10 on the season as the NFC South cellar dwellers.

According to a report from Will Kunkel of Fox26 in Houston, Reich's hot seat is "on fire," citing a league source.

Reich has been on the hot seat for the past several weeks, as the Panthers continue to flounder, and quarterback Bryce Young continues to regress after being chosen No. 1 overall in the NFL Draft just one pick before the Houston Texans selected C.J. Stroud.

"I enjoy that part of it," Reich recently told reporters, of the pressure of coaching in the NFL. "I understand the accountability that comes with it. I embrace that. And there's no place I'd rather be than right in the middle of it, and be in the battle."

Against the Titans, Young passed for 194 yards and rushed three times for 23 yards, but Carolina's offense averaged a meager 3.9 yards per play. Under Reich's tutelage, the Panthers haven't scored more than 15 points since a Week 8 upset victory over the Houston Texans, Carolina's lone win this season.

As strife continues between owner David Tepper and Reich, and the Panthers continue to merely go through the motions offensively, it becomes an open question whether Reich will last the season.
