The Giants Didn't Score a Single Point in 1.5 Games

It took the New York Giants seven quarters before scoring their first points of the 2023 NFL regular season.

As if things couldn't have gotten worse for the New York Giants after Week 1, the NFC East team still hasn't scored a point halfway through Week 2.

The Giants came into the 2023 season expected to be a top-end team in the NFC, opening the season with very good odds to earn a playoff spot. The Giant's first two games, however, have not been pretty. In Week one, the Dallas Cowboys embarrassed them on national TV. The Giants lost 40-0 at home and had a historically bad offensive performance that included three turnovers and seven sacks.

Heading into Week 2, there was optimism that New York could still turn their season around against the Arizona Cardinals. It appears, however, that the Giant's horrific Week 1 performance might have not been as much of a fluke as some fans wanted to believe.

Daniel Jones and the Giants offense started out bad against Arizona and things only got worse. The offense started out the games with three straight punts, followed by Jones' third interception of the year. The Giants attempted to put together a last-minute a drive before half, but that effort was shut down by a Zaven Collins sack.

Meanwhile, Josh Dobbs had no problem leading the Cardinals to a 20 lead in the first half. Through two quarters, Arizona put up 241 total yards while New York only had 81. In the 2022 season, Arizona only had three games where they had more than 250 yards of offense.

The 40 points from Dallas and the 20 from Arizona combine for 60 unanswered points from the Giants. Daniel Jones finally broke the scoreless streak in the third quarter on a rushing touchdown, but the Giants were still losing 20-7 at the time of the score.

After a promising season last year that included playoff win over the Minnesota Vikings, things are not looking too bright for the 2023 New York Giants. Even with Saquon Barkley coming off of his best season as a pro, and the addition of pro bowl tight-end Darren Waller, the team has displayed no signs of offensive success thus far. It's difficult to recall a start to the season quite as miserable as this.
